Would it possible to e-mail the raw files or post them to the old StarRise Yahoo Group?
... old eyes need magnification <g>.

Done! I uploaded them into the Yahoogroups files area. Look in the Book of Lists folder, then in the Maps folder.
But they don't really get any larger. They're low-resolution gifs and I don't think the tiny text will really be any easier to read even if you enlarge them in a graphics program. If they were ever printed on paper maybe someone with a scanner could re-scan originals at a higher resolution for us.

Those were originally created by the supremely talented W. David MacKenzie and published as the Atlas of StarRise, waaaay back in the day. What a flashback!

Greg, are you the Greg, evil incarnate, owner of Dawn Hold? Inquiring minds and all that.

Greg that also owned a wingleader and Lord Holder of StarRise? That Greg? Or am I thinking of another Greg? I never met you, but I read some of those backstories from long ago...

He's that Greg. Also known as the founder of Crescent Weyr. Hmm. Greg, you wanna plant Alianora somewhere? We've Weyrs that could use some goldriders, and I'd even be willing to give up Davria if you want Alianora back as Weyrwoman of Crescent. There aren't any writing requirements, but it would be really spiffy if you could participate in a colab when the Weyrwoman of Crescent is needed.

Hmmmmmm. Let me think about where the best place for Alianora and B'kane would be.

Oh, and here's a question -- I've got no problem with the Windwall going splat, I always felt it was something that should have gone away as soon as Segel Weyr started up. ("This is why those Weyrs vanished, but now that contact is re-established, it can go.") But do we really have to nuke all five of the Weyrs?
Waaaaay back in the day, right before I'd left Pern Fandom before, a bunch of us were building a private writing group where each person had control of a single Weyr in the (post-additional-Interval) 11th Pass, and one of the things we'd done was nuke the Windwall and then whittle the Weyrs down to 1 on the FEC. (If I remember correctly the justification for five Weyrs there was that the Wall somehow sucked in Thread from the surrounding ocean.)
So maybe we could still have NorthWind? It was physically the largest and so would make sense to be the one remaining Weyr for all the holds and such there. (And logically, losing an entire continent of people would have scarred the psyches of the rest of Pern.) That way if anyone (besides moi) has/had FEC characters that they'd like to stick around, we've still got it...

Last Pass Pern, Greg? I do wish that had been more successful. It was such a good idea! We'll get back to you shortly...

Any chance that the StarRise territory maps could be re-posted? I need to figure out some logistics but the maps are AWOL!

The Atlas of StarRise is available in .pdf format on the same site where Out of the Blue is posted.
