Okay, even though issue three isn't published yet, I'm all set to start plotting and writing for issue four. Anyone want to cook up a story with me?

Do you have any preference? Light comedy? Drama? Adventure? Tragedy? *starts humming the melody to "Comedy Tonight"*

My plans involve drama, dramatic comedy, more drama, possible comedic romance, still more drama, and, to round these off, moderate to severe devastation and still more drama. Issue 4 has two plots reaching fruition for me. If anyone is interested in the Pirate Plot, please let me know.... Oh...I also need cameos from goldriders, preferably junior, from other Weyrs. And Thom, I need to have a talk with you about ancient history to see if two people may have interacted before.

Oh, oooooh! I was thinking mystery (murder) in the Dragon Infirmary, any one?
(Note, details non-existent at this point, will be given out when brain is operating to those interested.)

Hmm. We can pull in all the dragonhealers with that one, and the two active guards!

Hm! Murder of a dragon or of a human? In any case, I'd be interested in participating.
Stories I have planned include...medical angst/drama with Aerden, weyrling drama/comedy with S'var, and some comedy of manners with Alissi. I'm always open to more!
For S'var's story, would anyone mind if I invented a celebration called Lovers' Night, which would feature dancing in the evening and perhaps a slightly more fancy than usual dinner, perhaps with music played during?

Chantal, indirectly both I think. Still playing with how in-depth I want to go with this.

Geo--Yeah, I figurted both, unless one or the other was already dead. Wasn't sure. The idea sounds intriguing, and I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Chantal...we should see if there is a celebration already established that would work; otherwise, it may be a "local to StarRise" celebration, in which case, just set up enough so we can use it again next year. In fact, other people may want to use it this year! At Fort 9, years ago, I established The Night of Falling Stars, which was an annual meteor shower on a summer night; it may or may not still exist 200 years later and at StarRise. Still, one human trait is to set up celebrations every when and where possible! Does anyone know of other celebrations we can use? No society would be happy with just Turn's End....

Y'know... I could really see Alissi and Sairi working together to organize a special night for folk at the Weyr to 1) raise Weyr morale, and 2) encourage an increase in population growth at the Weyr. Because, really, the Weyr is realistically operating with a skeleton population at present, and while they do have a steady trickle of new arrivals, the majority of their population increase should come from families already there. Perhaps these first couple of turns have seen few, if any, new births because folks are either scared or still mostly strangers to each other. Anyway! I'll take a look through some things tonight or tomorrow and see what celebrations may be common to Pern, or are common to our own territory.

*giggles at the idea of Alissi and Sairi conspiring to play mass matchmaker* And can you imagine the initial meeting at which Alissi suggests this, for the reasons given? *dies* Okay, I just want to see if Alissi can do it with a straight face.

Hey, Weyr morale and population growth are her concerns, as a goldrider! Would she really shirk those responsibilities simply because it seems silly to some?

Alissi, standing in front of mirror: "Hi, Sairi! I need to talk to you about something--No, not that. Hm. Headwoman, I need to discuss with you ways of--Ah...no. Sairi, the Weyr needs babies!" *sputters*
Invirith: "Why do you find it so embarrassing to talk about producing hatchlings?"
Alissi: "That's just it, Invirith. I don't have any children. And here I am, supposed to scheme ways of getting people romantically involved!"
Invirith: "Romantically involved...What does that mean?"
Alissi, with a wry look: "It means thinking your bronze has a gorgeous neck."
D'vran, butting into this exchange: "That's not romantic involvement; that's infatuation."
Invirith: "But Cammoranth does have a gorgeous neck...and wings, and...Infatuation. Is that what it's called?" *happy sigh*
