Reyna needs a foster parent for her daughter, Jayna. Jayna is 8 turns old and a handful. Being a single parent, and a dragonrider, Reyna simply cannot provide the full time care a growing child needs in order to become a stable, responsible, well-rounded individual. Not to say that Reyna won't be active in her child's life. Just that someone else needs to be primary caregiver, as is the time-honored way of the Weyr.

Hm. Maybe Sedric?

Would Sedric have time/be willing to be a foster parent? Crafters usually aren't since their Hall can shift 'em about without notice, right? Not that we're moving Sedric anywhere...

Mm...Good point. Sedric would be with patients most of the day, and yes, he could be reassigned without notice--Though I think the Hall wants him there just to make sure Aerden stays in line. 9g)

I was just reading this and got an idea, what about some who didn't Impress, now overage, has the background and experiences coming from a background of weaver with be one of older daughters use to keeping her younger brothers and sisters under control and out of harms way, and has what you are looking for?
She would have helped out in the creche, but found weaving not to be her craft, even if she did do a bit spinning while keeping an eye on the young ones while they napped?

Well, most Candidates who don't Impress have the option of staying in the Weyr. They're assigned to a job according to their interests and abilities. MANY of the lower caverns folk serve as foster parents for the dragonriders. Foster parents don't have to work in the nursery. That would be like saying the only people who can be parents are daycare workers...

Next question is were from and next would be PC or NPC and some help on get sheets written up. I was thinking of how to do this, I still can't type too long.
