We have a ground level map, but a level by level map is beyond me. However, what you DO get is weyr assignments! YOU can choose where your weyr is and know what's on the ground when you look off your weyrledge! Nifty, no?
Here's how it works. The Weyr is divided into four quadrants. Two quadrants have nine levels, two have eight. Level one is basically one story up from the ground floor.
There are six different sizes of weyrs:
Family (FAM): these are large weyrs with one dragon wallow, a living area, a kitchenette type area, one storage room, three sleeping rooms, and a small bathing cavern. These weyrs are reserved to weyrmated couples that have children where one partner is not a dragonrider.
Double (DBL): these weyrs are reserved for couples where both are dragonriders. The weyrs have two dragon wallows, a living area, a small kitchenette area, a small storage room (more like a closet), and a single sleeping room. There is no bathing cavern. Couples who are both dragonriders will not be assigned family weyrs because any children they have will be fostered.
Extra Large (XL): these weyrs are reserved for Wingleaders. The weyrs have a small office, a dragon wallow, a living area, a small kitchenette, a sleeping room, and a small bathing room.
Large (L): these weyrs are reserved first for bronzeriders and wingseconds, then first ask, first get - until there are no more available and there are more wingseconds and bronzeriders in need. The weyrs have a dragon wallow, a small office, a small kitchenette area, a living area, a small storage room, and a sleeping room.
Medium (M): these weyrs are reserved for brown- and blueriders. They have dragon wallows, a living area, a small kitchenette area, a small storage area, and a sleeping room.
Small (S): these weyrs are assigned to greenriders. They have dragon wallows, a living area, a small kitchenette area, a small storage area, and a sleeping room.
The only real difference between the Medium and Small weyrs is the size of the dragon wallow and the size of the living area.
Double, Large, Medium, and Small weyrs do NOT have private bathing rooms. They do, however, share a bathing room with the four or five other weyrs on their level. I'll eventually update the charts to show which weyrs share the bathing caverns.
Below is a map of the Weyr, divided into quadrants. The Northwest Quadrant is the weyrling area. Weyrlings still in training will be assigned their private weyr here when they reach 8 months of training. The XL weyrs in this area are reserved for the weyrling training assistants and the Candidatemaster. There are more weyrs available than will be needed by senior weyrlings, and may be assigned at a riders request - or as punishment.
Below the map is the list of weyr numbers in each quadrant. The number following the L indicates the level the weyr is on. Level 1 is closest to the ground - but not ground level - and Level 9 is the highest. The numbers run north to south. The lower the number, the farther north it is. For instance, weyr L4.01 is on the northernmost weyr, on level 4, in that particular quadrant.
Keep in mind what's below you when you choose your weyr! You might not want to risk tossing out your dirty wash water and dousing the Weyrwoman, who's weyr is below yours.
Stairs make most weyrs accessible, if you're willing to walk up them. There is an elevator (the Pern tech level variety) available in each quadrant. And, of course, there are always weyrlings on transport duty.
A list of currently occupied weyrs can be found here: spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=ri1ZyFfZamAK-XzUX4Xvgxw&output=html
And now...the pictures. I will start a second thread for folks to make their weyr assignment requests.
