Background: Caleigh’s family have been seafolk for as long as they can recall. It’s what they’ve always done. It’s what they will always do. Caleigh grew up with the expectation of following in the family footsteps and began that task at the age of eight. For eleven years she mended nets, scaled fish, hunted the tide pools, and contributed to Waylay’s economy.
And then she was Searched. Bralaeth changed her life, changed the future she’d envisioned for herself, and it threw her off balance. It took the duration of her weyrling training for her to get used to the idea that she’d never have to scale another fish unless she chose to. She took on her duties and responsibilities as a wingrider as quietly and competently as she’d done her duties as a fisherwoman.
When the quake and break of turn 28 hit, Caleigh was one of the riders participating in the Spring Games. She was further out, however, and saw her fellow dragonriders dying. She ordered the group she was part of between without a second thought, sending them some distance from the mountain and waited for word to come. Then she and her group went about evacuating the holds and cotholds. She and Bralaeth were sent to Ista Weyr until StarRise could be re-inhabited.
Personality: Caleigh is a quiet, shy, introvert with a mothering nature. She’s capable, efficient, chock full of common sense, and with a firm desire to fade into the stonework if she could. She can take charge if she really has to, but she’d much prefer not to be the one making decisions about most things. She’s very insecure, but hides it fairly well behind a façade of quiet efficiency. She’s more outgoing once she gets to know someone, but she’ll never be the person to take the first, second, third, or fourth step in a relationship. She might take the fifth, but if she’s rebuffed she’ll never try again.
She has a very quiet sense of humor. She’ll never be one to laugh out loud easily, and is more likely to show her amusement with a wide smile and a muffled giggle. Unusually. Unfortunately, she’s extremely ticklish and that’s a guaranteed why to get her shrieking with laughter.

Personality: Bralaeth is…complacent. As long as his rider is content, his stomach isn’t rumbling, and the sun is shining, Bralaeth is a happy dragon. He takes things in stride and is rarely, if ever, upset. Life comes, life goes. The sun rises. The sun sets. It’s all the same to Bralaeth.
