Stories at the NPC Weyrs

As everyone knows, we welcome and encourage stories at our NPC Weyrs. The rule is 50/50, however. If you submit four stories, 2 of those stories have to be based in StarRise's territory. The other two can be anywhere you wish.

Now, as it stands, I'm planning on writing some stories at Sable for next issue. But I thought - I have characters at other Weyrs, too! Naturally, my first inclination will be to write for Sable. I'm their rep here in our little writing group. But what about those other NPC Weyrs, and the characters I have there?

I don't really have time to shepherd all the NPC Weyrs myself, but I don't want them to lay unplayed and ignored, either. So I'm giving a shout out - if anyone wants to plot stories for those other NPCs Weyrs, I'm willing, able, and eager! If you're willing to take the lead on the plotting, organizing, and preparing, I'd like to write some stories with you all 'round Pern.

So. Anyone want to make some plots and plans for an NPC Weyr?

And anyone want to get in on some of my Sable plots? I've two or three stories that could easily allow for bit parts and appearances of your characters, if they happen to be living at Sable during the time period.

Anna--Perhaps something could be worked out between Sable and Theran? Their territories are right next door to each other, aren't they? If so, L'cassian and Izara might be well acquainted with N'shi and Zahlenka. Would you be interested in perhaps a forest fire that threatens both territories?

I don't know how concerned Lenni would be about a forest fire. They serve a purpose, after all. They clear out old growth and rejuvenate the land where it's burned out. Why fight it, when nothing's endangered? They don't have the technology that we do today, so dragonriders fighting a forest fire would seem to be at greater risk than they need to take, when it'll burn out on it's own. Dragons and riders don't really have any defense against the extreme heat, or the smoke. They just wouldn't get involved. Unless there's a hold in the way.... And at THAT point, it's up to the holders to build their firebreaks, otherwise it's a violation of Hold autonomy, regardless of the danger. The Weyrs could, and would!, send messages to the holds. But I can't see them fighting the fire themselves....

Lenni and N'shi would certainly know L'cassian and Izara, and fairly well! They share a border, so sometimes they'd fly joint 'Falls together. I'm sure there are some political and diplomatic issues that they'd face together, too.
