Imagine my surprise and pleasure after running into Deb Bryan on Facebook and discovering that my favorite Pern group was alive and kicking.
Anna, Chantal...I am pleased to see that you've kept things going. Good job.

Pam! I was just thinking about you the other day! How are you doing? Want to come play with us again?

Hi, Pam! Charles says Hi! We're very proud to be in the final stages of producing our third zine of the ReAwakened club. (I say "we", but once Chantal and I finish editing, we dump the whole thing in Anna's lap, and she works her magic.)

Pam! Oh, wow! It is so good to see you again! How have you been? Please do consider coming back. Actually, it was Hope who started it. (EWG) But Anna and I were very easily persuaded, because we'd been missing StarRise, too.

;D ;D ;D ;D You guys.... Hope! I am so glad to 'see' you and I've often thought about Charlie and you. Tell him I've missed him these past years. You will have to tell me how life has been treating you in the past 20 years? Chantal and Anna...like I said, you guys have done a good job keeping StarRise alive. I'm impressed. And Hope? I am so glad you resurrected the Weyr... Kris... Gee, I can't imagine lol I would love to come back and visit and play. I have to tell you I haven't written Pern since I left. I have been busy raising kids and working. lol Hard to believe, but my eldest is almost 22 now and in college and my youngest is 14 and headed to high school next year. Where does time go? I am back in college to finish my degree so I'm up to my eyeballs in Computer programming and database admin stuff. I will be more than happy to help if I can. I gues that means I need to read up on the current weyr activities and relationships,eh? Love, Pam

Anything you want to write... I know how hard it is juggling school and full time work. I'm doing that now myself. I don't have kids - but I live near family now, so I've got the nieces and nephew about! This time of year, my Saturdays are usually taken up with basketball games. In another month, my whole weekends will be devoted to baseball tournaments. My nephew, Zach, is on a travelling baseball team. Fortunately, most of the travelling is local, but there's a trip to Dallas, one to South Haven, MS, and one to Alexandria that are all hotel-distance away. Then, there's his week-long trip to New York. I won't be doing that one! We've plenty of room for whatever characters you want to bring in. Just let us know - and I can't wait to start seeing some of your stories again!

As I said before, writing is not my thing, as in coming up with ideas, but I have been rummaging around the site, and I hope helped answer some questions for you folks, now I have an idea or two or three, and if I can get someone to help me co-write I think I have a gem of a story and ideea some posted about a Potter's Hall in Star Rise and can help me with get the timeline right, I am starting to understand it, but its hard, some of thiese stories have wet my wantness to put a story idea into play.

Pam--we're all really pleased that so many "old" Pern writers were still interested, and so many new ones as well! I find that it's fun and interesting to write the "grown-up" version of old characters, to figure out how they've changed, and then to get to interact them with lots of new characters. Charles and I are well, as are our daughters--5 and almost 11. Charles started doing art for this third zine, some of it without any begging on my part. I have taken over a few of his characters; that's a special line in our marriage vows, hidden in the fine print, that all of his characters became my property. He still has veto power over most of them, though.... We hope you'll come play as life allows! --Hope
