I thought Sumatra just had giant rats... Nope, Sumatran tigers are an authentic subspecies, still found (though critically endangered) in the wild. At one time there were subspecies of tigers on the even smaller islands of Java and Bali. The Javan tiger ranged from 100-140kg for males/75-115kg for females, while the Balinese tiger was the smallest of the tigers at 90-100kg for males/65-80kg for females. I mention the latter as a possible size range for the Pernese wildcats.
