Timeline:
198.13.01 – born at Ifranji Weyr
16.06.23 – Impressed gold Applieth
17.11.23 – Graduated weyrling training…and started eying the Weyrwoman’s position.
25.10.23 – Transferred to Sable Weyr. They needed golds and she figured her chances of rapid promotion were more likely at a Weyr that couldn’t keep a Weyrwoman.
30.02.01 – Transferred to Theran Weyr, unable to continue at Sable under such a Weyrwoman as Zahlenka.
Background: Kirae is the daughter of two lower caverns workers, either parent having Impressed when found on Search, but neither parent having much ambition in life, either. Her mother was perfectly content to work in the Weyr’s laundry, and her father was just as content to work in the stables. Kirae applied for Candidacy as soon as she was old enough, and turn after turn of being left on the sands didn’t discourage her – it just convinced her that she was meant to Impress a gold and one just hadn’t been laid yet.
Finally one was laid, and she did Impress it. She excelled at Weyrling Training and took her place among the junior goldriders at Ifranji Weyr. Once she’d recovered from the graduation party, she started eyeing the more senior goldriders and calculating how long it would take before she was Weyrwoman herself. Deciding that there wasn’t much chance of it happening at Ifranji, she formulated a plan for herself: gathering experience at Ifranji, then transferring to a Weyr on Pern where there was more danger – and more likelihood of advancing quickly. During the next seven turns, she worked hard to increase her skills and groom herself to be the perfect Weyrwoman. She took on more and more responsibility, deftly cutting other goldriders out of consideration for jobs.
Finally, she determined she was ready. She’d carefully evaluated all the Pern Weyrs and decided that Sable not only had frequently changing Weyrwoman, but was in desperate need of a competent Weyrwoman. With the recent problems there, they could seriously a goldrider with her skills, and she could use the opportunity for rapid advancement.
Unfortunately, Sable didn’t turn out to be remotely suited for a goldrider of her caliber. The riders were rebellious, disrespectful, crude and base. The goldriders weren’t much better, being an incompetent diplomatic nightmare; a grasping, manipulative backstabber; a nauseating innocent; and a common whore. Even after their departures the situation was not an improvement and after five turns under Zahlenka’s leadership, Kirae simply could not tolerate it anymore. She requested a transfer to Theran, and no time was wasted in receiving approval.
Personality: Kirae has a very…strong personality. She’s determined and intelligent. She’s organized, efficient, and analytical. She knows her mind, she knows it well, and she’s always very sure of her decisions and opinions. She’s a political animal, and plays the game. With her subordinates, she’s demanding and has very high standards. She’s treats her superiors the same way, but with a skimming of perfectly correct respect.
Supremely ambitious, Kirae believes that SHE was meant to be Weyrwoman and she is looking for the Weyr that will give her that position the most quickly. She’ll push her superiors, slowly, steadily, constantly to either make them live up to her ideals or to get them to get out of her way.
Easily liked on the surface, by people who don’t work directly with her, but not really considered anyone’s friend. Her subordinates find her too demanding, her superiors too pressing. Everyone will admit, however, that her work is superior quality and entirely accurate.
She does honestly put the good of the Weyr foremost in her decisions and actions. She insists that all of Applieth’s flights are open, unless a bronze begins winning too many of the flights. Then she’ll ban the bronze from the flight on the grounds that the breeding should not get to limited.

DRAGONRIDERS
Name: Applieth
Color: Gold
Size: Average
Where and When Impressed: Ifranji Weyr, 16.06.23
Sire/Dam:
Physical Appearance: A rich amber-gold, in perfect shape. Her wings are slightly larger than normal.
Personality: Applieth has sweet, mellow personality that seems completely at odds with her choice of rider. Usually biddable and complacent, she rarely makes commands, issues orders, or attempts to enforce her will. However, she must do it more often than other dragons or people know, otherwise Kirae would run right over her. Somehow, however, the two are equal partners and perfectly in balance with each other.
