Personality and persona description: Northern trader trains tend to be a little more sedate and traditional than their Southern counterparts. Unfortunately no one told Seryl this. She is wild, rebellious, and has a fiery temper. She has no time for silly holder girls or pompous holder boys. She decided to accept Search to avoid certain death to her rebellious tomboyish self- eternity in her great uncle's cothold. Seryl is passionate about things she cares deeply about (runners, her uncle, her flit, etc). She had few friends in her father's train due to her short temper, strange ways, and stubbornness. She hoped to begin anew at Telgar, but she hasn't been as successful at that as she would like. Since she was always outside, she was deeply tanned, or sunburned and peeling. Since coming to Telgar's colder climate, she's had to adjust to her new paler complexion. She really misses her tan. Since Impressing Remyrth, she's had a bit of trouble adjusting to the nicer manners and formalities required of her new station.
Dress: Seryl was used to wearing knee pants, soft leather boots, and a comfortable thin, cotton shirt while in the Train. Telgar Weyr's cold weather doesn't allow for this. Seryl is almost always cold and found bundled up in sweaters and long pants with thermals underneath. She'll wear anything as long as it's warm, and isn't looking forward to going to formal situations where she's required to wear less than her riding leathers. Getting Seryl into a dress with a low neckline and no sleeves is going to be quite an event.
Background: Seryl was born along the Dunto River in Telgar Territory on a stormy day. They say that's why her temper's so bad and her spirit is so fiery. Serla died a few days after she was born, and her father's wife, Dallyse, raised her and her brother and sister. Dallyse had never acted kindly toward her husband's mistress because having extramarital affairs wasn't the sort of thing good, honest people did. She took out her annoyance on Rannon, Brynae, and especially Seryl. She never hit them, but subjected them to third class treatment and lots of verbal abuse. Dewar was always too busy to notice this, and so was sort of an absent father.
Seryl's Uncle Mannan always felt a bit sorry for her and so he gifted her with a flitter egg when she was about 13. Mannan was the Wagonmaster of the Taliesin Train, and he encouraged Seryl in her riding and other unladylike exploits. Dewar was too busy to notice where Seryl's encouragement was coming from, so he never bothered Mannan about it. Mannan thought it was important to encourage her independence instead of inflicting something on her that she would wear like shackles. Dewar never approved of Seryl's independent streak, so he was always threatening her with exile to his uncle's cothold in Crom. The threats were empty until she went missing during a green flight at Telgar. It was discovered that she spent it with brownrider B’zorn, and Dewar exploded. Seryl lost her temper and disappeared. She wasn't looking at where she was going and ran right into a blue dragon that happened to be in the Bowl. He Searched her for the newly laid queen egg and she accepted immediately. Mannan was overjoyed, as were her brother and sister. Dewar fumed and Dallyse glowered, but Seryl was happy.
Since Impressing gold Remyrth, she has made great friends with Tiane, a bluerider with an exuberance similar to Seryl's own. She's her first real girl friend, and Seryl is having a great time hanging out, talking girl talk, telling secrets, and other such fun stuff. She also became involved with T'rean. He was the first guy she was ever seriously involved with, and it was a little strange for her as most of her relationships had been casual up to that point. She thought she was in love, but she hadn't had the nerve to discuss it with Tiane.
Seryl's Uncle Mannan was crushed to death by a boulder a few months after she Impressed. The circumstances surrounding his death are a little bit fishy, and Dewar is doing a terrible job taking his place. The Train is in real trouble because of mismanagement by a man who doesn't even know how to read threadfall charts. It's caused Rannon to get along better with his older half-brother Shavar, since much of the day-to-day doings of the Taliesin's have fallen on their shoulders. Seryl was devastated by the loss of her beloved uncle and has done all she can to support Shavar and Rannon in their new responsibilities.
Because Seryl was more interested in riding her runner, Storm, and getting sunburned, she spent very little time doing things like reading, writing, and learning etiquette. As a result, some of her new duties as a goldrider are more than a little bit difficult. She has a tendency to speak before she thinks, and has a pretty low reading level. She's doing her best though. Her handwriting is improving, although her spelling is likely to remain atrocious forever. Because of her difficulties, she relies on Tiane to help her with her duties in the Records Room, and has tried to keep the situation secret from the other goldriders. Since Tiane’s promotion however, she has turned to B’zorn for help.
About six months before she was due to graduate, there was particularly windy threadfall with more than the usual number of injuries. Remyrth was just beginning rescue training and was overly enthusiastic in the rescue of an injured blue (she was out in 'Fall delivering stone). At the time, she was a spindly, scrawny little thing without much substance and the blue strained her to the point that she dislocated her wings at the shoulder. It took a very long time for her to recuperate as she put on a lot of weight and reached her enormous full size during her convalescence. Flying is still tiring for her, and as a result she hasn't flown many full 'Falls. This has made them continue with the younger weyrling classes even though they have attained full rider status. It also keeps Seryl in a lot of paperwork, which she finds tedious. It tends to pile up on her and right now the inbox in her tiny office has spread into another stack on the floor. It also forces her into conferences with Holders and Crafters, which is proving to be quite interesting.
She eagerly looked forward to her first mating flight, but was devastated when she unwillingly shared it with Ar’tin. She’s been standoffish about sex and mating flights ever since. She dreads Remy’s flights and only suffers through them because she has to. She withdrew from T’rean and left him when she just couldn’t take his philandering anymore. She turned to B’zorn after a mating flight and has been with him ever since, trying to regain the part of her life that Ar’tin killed. They had a brief argument while Remy had a mating flight injury. Remyrth overextended herself trying to fly a normal-length flight (her flights were shorter secondary to her injury) and Wesneth flew her and came to her air. As B’zorn came to Seryl to comfort her, she accused him of only coming to her for his flight privileges. The pair were estranged for a short time, but soon reconciled their differences.
Early in turn 33, Ghaelian stepped down as Weyrwoman. Seryl could think of about 10 good reasons Tirlen would have made a better one than she, but it was left to the dragons. Remyrth rose before Tirlen’s gold and Seryl became Weyrwoman of Telgar Weyr. Seryl quickly enlisted Tiane as her helper with all things with regard to paperwork, as she had in the past, and the bluerider was happy to comply for her friend. Seryl is only concerned for the strain this may put on her relationship with B’zorn.

Pet/breed/name: Dingbat, a dark brown flitter. He's very, very silly and stupid, and it's a great contrast to his normally sensible-ish flit color of brown. He's not around much, except when the golds call for help of some sort. Seryl also has several runners that she enjoys riding, but gave them up when her family left the Weyr after she was Searched. She is currently looking for a new one to replace Storm, her favorite, and is saving her marks to buy one.
Hobbies: Riding, running, playing pranks on her younger siblings, losing her temper, getting in trouble. She's a tomboy, so likes to do most athletic and outdoorsy things. She's learning to play poker, but isn't very good at it yet. She loves just hanging out with her friends, although she has less and less time for that.
DRAGON INFORMATION
Name and Color: gold Remyrth
Date Impressed: 23.04.21
Where Impressed: Telgar Weyr
Sire/Dam: /Elbereth #49
Wing: Golden Sun Wing
Physical Description: Remyrth is a dark honey-bronze gold. She is lighter on her belly and wings and darker on her back and tail. Her eyes are large and her snout is long and flattish. She is a very large queen. She is about 140' from her nose to the tip of her tail and has a 230' wingspan.
Personality: Remyrth is very unlike her rider (although not a total opposite). She is very self-conscious of her large size and is very shy as a result. However, if she is provoked in any way she becomes ~very~ rank conscious- especially towards bronzes. Remyrth has a few close friends (Lerandith, Marinuth, and Ulceth). She absolutely adores her mother Elbereth and dotes on her. She also enjoys romping around and sunning with Marinuth, which is odd because he's a blue. She's immensely enjoying rescue training, although an injury has put that particular joy aside for a while. Remyrth is somewhat peeved that she still has to do physical therapy, and often broadcasts this fact loudly. She hasn't formed many relationships with bronzes as of yet, as they tend to irritate her and must be taught their place. She seemed to be preferring browns in her flights in turn 27, but when it counted to become the Weyrwoman's gold, none were good enough but stead, solid Azmerath.
