Complexion : Emmelea tans well but doesn't enjoy being in the sun very much at all. She has golden highlights in her hair from the sun.
Identifying Marks: she has a scar on her right calf from when she was a child and fell off a rock wall and cut it open. She needed to have stitches applied by the hold healer. The scar is very faint now, but she can still see it and vaguely remember the fall itself and poking at the wound when there were stitches.
Parent's Names & Ranks: Robaan and Margueritta of Crom Hold. Robaan was a minercraft journeyman, and Marguerritta was a lady's maid in the hold. Robaan dissolved the relationship when he found that Margueritta was cheating on him with a guardsman. He arranged to be transferred to a different posting and left his child to her mother's care, certain that she would be better able to care for the daughter better than a miner. Margueritta later married the
guardsman, one Flanien of Crom.

Background:
Emmelea spent much of her childhood in a state of worry and uncertainty. She watched the dissolution of her parents partnership (at the age of 7 turns) and instead of being given any support or love, was alternately beaten or ignored by her mother and her new husband. As soon as she could Emmelea sought out
her father and through him was able to find a haven at the holding of her aunt Annea, from where she was able to return to a semblance of a normal home life. Her Aunt had a few friends in Weavercraft Hall and she arranged for her niece to study there for a few turns and see if that was an education she would do well with. (As, in Annea's mind, Emmelea was never going to be a beauty she'd better have a craft to support her.)
At the age of 12 turns Emmelea was taken on as an apprentice weaver and has followed that path ever since. She likes the feeling she gets from creating an ensemble, and has seen her hopes of becoming a recognized and respected designer coming into being over the passing turns. Of late she has found that her work is becoming well known and desired by many of the Lord & Lady Holders of High Reaches Territory.
When, at the age of 20, Emmelea was given the honor to study with Masterweaver Lodelia, and act as her assistant, the weaver girl was overjoyed! She has worked nearly nonstop to impress the Master, as well as learn as much as she can. She feels that Lodelia is one of the finest fiber-artists on Pern and hopes to come away from her association much richer in knowledge for it.
Interests: Emmelea has a driving interest in fashion. She likes working in the Weyr because some of her more wild outfits are the kind of flashy, cutting edge things that riders want (in order to make a splash and stand out from "boring"holderfolk.) Emmelea also has a passing interest in runners but knows very very little about them. She would like to know more but is afraid that no one
will respect her after she asks a bunch of what she sees a s stupid questions, and she doesn't want to be the butt of any jokes. She rode one once and was thrown and ever since then has been skittish about getting on their backs.
Current relationships: She isn't currently involved with anyone. She was involved with A'yeun, for a while, but the greenrider moved on (as is his habit). She found out later that she was pregnant by him--an unexpected and not-too-welcome situation. She realizes that A'yeun has done this before and he always gets away with it. She's determined that if her pregnancy & birth goes well that she will make him play a part in the child's life. Until such time as she goes into labor she has continued to throw herself back into her work (following Lodelia's example).
The baby is expected in 33.03
Personality: Emmelea is a friendly woman once she gets past an initial suspicion of strangers.
