Writing as addiction! I know just what you mean Chantal. When you're in that rush of writing, and everything flows...definitely addictive!

Writing as addiction - hmmm. Yes, I think that's how I might describe how I wrote Sairi's story (my first in fandom...) I had the base concept idea, one general scene, the tone of the story, and then just sat down as a fever gripped me and started to write. The 'fever' came and went over a week or so, until the rough was done.
Hmmm. Maybe I will write a second story, after all, for this issue... :-)

How I write. I sit and type. Still, with all the layers involved, the characters, their entire histories, their ways of being, ways of growing, wrapped in with various collisions and coallitions and then nudged by timelines that include world events, weyr, hold, craft events, and ultimately the goals that I have for plots, can make for some convoluted word play.
That, and I let other people edit me. I have some drastic spelling and english at times.
For the most part, I have a vision of this dance between character evolution and plot.
I prefer that scenes, dialogue, description, action, what have you, do what it can to preform multiple tasks.
It moves the plot forward, backward, sideward, in some fashion.
It tells me how my character is in any given situation with any given person and how the character reacts should not only tell me/us more about them but should also do what it can to move the plot forward.
I have a couple of great articles on writing I could put up here if anyone's at all interested.
Cheers!

My writing springs from many different things. Sometimes a sketch will trigger a writing bout, sometimes some random thought will trigger a full blown epic story idea, sometimes a passing piece of dialogue in a movie.
Mostly the characters tell me what is going on. On a good writing I sit at the computer and they babble in my head and I type madly to get the story out fast enough to suit them. Sometimes it is just a stand alone story, sometimes it leads into something huge.
Though I am very very rusty. I'm hoping they'll talk some more so I can start working on my writing skills as much as I'm working on my drawing.

Now remember...sort out the voices in your head carefully. If you start mumbling and arguing with them, tells someone. He He.

You're just jealous because the voices talk to ME!

Kit, MY voices talk to you? How dare they? I mean, you'll now know my plots before me. Sigh.

Everyone's voices talk to me on occasion. I can hear them. True they don't always make sense.... but I hear all the voices!
