Regarding Natascha
I have Nat's office phone number. I attempted to get her home phone number, but it's unlisted. So I will leave her a message tomorrow during her office hours and ask her to either call or email me. She's working in Utah now.

I have Nat's home address from when I stayed with her when I was in med school. It is possible I even have her home phone #. I would have to look..... So for all of you curious folks... Yes. I am indeed married I got married in December to a fabulous guy from Ottawa. His sister is a friend of mine and we met when I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. Go figure. His name is Colin. Great name So I get to be Andrea Irving now. Since he's Canadian and all and we got sick of the long distance very fast, we got married in Vegas by none other than an Elvis impersonator. My best friend and his bst friend were the only ones in attendance. Our families, although they knew about all this, were moderately annoyed to be excluded. So we are planning a bigger wedding where everyone can celebrate with us this November. Complete with dress, flowers cake, etc. Should be fun. We have 2 puppies now. Pyra is still around. And we got a new mini Schnauzer name Sunny on Tuesday. She is a cutie. I'm a 3rd year ob/gyn resident now and I'm trying to get into a laparoscopic surgery fellowship that will put me in another 1-2 years of training after I graduate in 2010. But that way I won't have to get up at 3am to deliver babies, which I like, but the waking up at 3am sucks. So that is what I have been up to. Hugs for all of you. I have missed you so!!!!

Andrea! I've wondered what you were up to. My big news, I'm an official vet now! I graduated a year ago. Crazy to think I've been a vet for a year!

That rocks Jenn! Are you still in Kansas? One of my residency classmates went to KU. I always think of you (even though you're a K State-er) when we hang out.

I'm in Kansas City, so yes, I live in KS, but I work in MO. I still hate surgery with a *passion*. Hate! I am actually somewhat seriously considering seeing if I want to think about a residency in Internal Med or Behavior in a few years. >.> Something where I'd never have to do surgery again would make me a very, very happy camper. >.>

This is an unusually high concentration of medical people! I have to say, I no longer miss doing deliveries. It was fun in residency, but family doctors don't deliver as a rule in Massachusetts. I personally decided I wanted to deliver my own kids rather than other peoples, and I didn't think I could do both. ;>
Eleven years in one place, and I still love my job. My youngest patient is 9 days old today, my oldest is 99 1/2. And I am never, ever bored. (So there's my plug for Family Practice, if you're really thinking of changing careers, Jenn.)

I don't remember if there were AOL boards or not... I guess there must've been, but I remember the old GEnie forums. *sigh* Those were good times.
Hell, I remember first learning about Pern fandom on Prodigy.
Also, hello!

I remember the AOL boards because that was how I had discovered Pern online, but didnt because was caught up in high school, homework... don't miss that. Then, I found StarRise Weyr again in 2001 and joined. I stayed in Pern fandom through 2005 and then left... burnout plus other RL issues.
Anyway, my name's Meredith and I'm a returning member of StarRise. Some of you already know me and welcome to all the new faces I see that I don't know. The other night I had the urge to read my friend's page on LiveJournal and was excited to find out that the Weyr was open again from Chantal. :-D
The first persona l ever created was Merali and I wrote many stories with her and another old member. I don't know if she's coming back or not because I'd love to write with her again. If not then I'll be starting over with a new persona named Sanoe that was an NPC at one of the other weyrs. I don't have many PC personas because creating sheets takes me a long time and the writer's block doesn't help. I'm really trying hard to break through it.
I currently have my own apartment in an independent living retirement facility and am doing well. I enjoy it here but sometimes don't like the food. You have to weigh the good with the bad, I guess and now I really must get some sleep. I've got a periodontist appointment later this morning. So, goodnight all.
Meredith

I'm sure some of you know me and others don't. I hope to get to now all those who don't know me. I don't know how active I'll be because of health issues but I've enjoyed writing and plotting with many of you in the past and hope to get to do that again. I'm working on getting character sheets updated so I can resurrect some of the old characters I enjoyed playing. I'm always open to collaborations so if you want someone to work with just give me a holler.
